About Cyber Security

The MSc in Cyber Security is an advanced master’s degree aimed at providing graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the modern-day challenges posed by cyber security especially in data and network security.

This program is targeted at enabling graduates acquire a comprehensive understanding of practical aspects of the cyber security discipline. The program is conducted in modern laboratories, which integrates the theory and practice of computer systems security, computer and cyber warfare, cyber espionage and countermeasures, data and information security, and network surveillance. These subjects are built upon a basic knowledge of computer networks, both wired and wireless, and industry standards.

ISC2 CERTIFICATE

School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland in partnership with the world’s preeminent cybersecurity professional membership organization recognized for the CISSP® is providing Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification, for those who are new to the field of cybersecurity and want to establish proof of their foundation-level knowledge and skills.

The certification, led by UWS own ISC2 Authorised Instructors is best suited for students who wish to begin their cyber career and have a sound foundation of fundamentals. To obtain the free ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification, students must first learn the major domains, such as security principles, cybersecurity controls, security in networking, identity management, and risk management. These domains will be provided as self–paced E-Learning training with free exams
